Helen Halliday
Helen Halliday’s main inspiration is the sea and she returns regularly to the coast to paint and sketch – she runs regular painting holidays in Lulworth Cove, Dorset. She works in a variety of media including painting, printmaking and ceramics. She has studied painting with professional artists in the UK and USA, has gained a BA Hons degree in Fine Art at Hertfordshire University, a post–graduate diploma in printmaking and a City and Guilds certificate in Ceramics. She appeared on Channel 4’s Watercolour Challenge in 2001 and 2002, and has worked with sculptor Andy Goldsworthy. She has taken part in many solo and group exhibitions in and around London and has exhibited in Scandinavia. She has achieved awards in several national art competitions and has work in both public and private collections. She was Artist in Residence at Missenden Abbey Summer School, 2001 and took part in the ’Art in the City’ painting competition in Mainz, Germany in 2004. Helen is an experienced teacher in painting, drawing and printmaking, and runs workshops and painting holidays. She also contributed to the Arts Council funded mural project ’A Celebration of South Oxhey’.
