I see the ceramics as an extension of my painting practice – a chance to indulge my love of colour, texture and form and to work in three dimensions. I am currently developing two different ranges; slipware which makes the most of the bright colours achievable with earthenware, and more textured sculptural pieces for the garden in frost-proof stoneware. I look to Picasso for inspiration – he took up ceramics long after he had made his name as a painter and used the medium to express his personality.
