My paintings are inspired by my love of colour and light – I use different media to interpret my experiences in the landscape to create dramatic & vibrant works on paper and canvas. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques, building up textures and layers until I feel that the work conveys my feelings about the subject. I also like to work in a more abstract way, to allow the colours and shapes to develop intuitively without the restrictions of a specific subject. This in turn gives you (the viewer) the opportunity to make your own interpretation of the painting – a further step in the creative journey.
