In 2012, Helen will be running the following courses:1. Creative landscape painting at Lulworth CoveThe aim
of the course is to allow you to develop at your own pace and in
your own way, in a relaxed, friendly and stimulating environment. I
will be there to encourage you to explore your own ideas and
creativity. Lulworth dates 2012 April 22 - 27 Cost £560 for 5 days full board, tuition and no single supplement. 10% reduction if booked before December 31st. For further information look on www.lulworthcove.co.uk - booking forms can be downloaded from here.
This is your chance to discover something new with a group of
like-minded people – whether you are an experienced artist or just
starting out, this painting holiday will provide you with the
creative stimulus you are looking for. The
Cromwell House Hotel provides a relaxing and
welcoming base for the holiday. It is only a few minutes’ walk from
the sea and has wonderful views from the gardens and many of the
rooms. The price includes five nights full board and single ensuite
rooms. The spacious dining room with views over the village and the
sea will be our studio if the weather is wet, though the course will
be based
outside as much as possible. A list of materials will be sent out
when booking. "... a short note to say a very big thank you for a very inspiring week – I now feel I have a little person sitting on my shoulder saying ‘just go for it!’ " (Fran)
2. Landscape painting in St Ives, CornwallThis holiday is based at the HF house Chy Morvah, meaning ‘house by the sea’ in Cornish. Situated within walking distance of the centre of St Ives, it enjoys wonderful views along the North Cornwall coast. On this holiday guests arrive at about 4pm for tea and introductions. The next day we will explore St Ives and have a chance to paint a variety of subjects - the famous harbour, fishing boats, sea and rocks, quaint narrow streets and distant views. During the week there will be trips to Porthleven, Zennor and Cape Cornwall which will provide even more inspiration. On Wednesday there’s a free day to explore the museums and galleries in St Ives (or to go for a swim!), and there will be a trip to the Mynack open air theatre. Even though St Ives is a long way away it is well worth the trip (you can get there by train) as the light and colours are fantastic and there is great inspiration both in the landscape and all the galleries.
